Logan Joseph is here!!

Good Early Morning!! Logan Joseph joined us at 1:45am this morning. The labor progressed pretty slow. Carrie stayed at 4-4.5 cm for about 3 or 4 hours. At 1am she was dilated 6 cm and 80% effaced. The nursed rolled her to her left side and in FIVE minutes she was fully effaced and dilated. Logan was crowning on his own. The nurse called all the special care nursery personnel and kept paging the doctor to come. At this point Carrie was extremely uncomfortable and telling her that he was coming out on his own. Sure enough the doctor came in, Carrie's words were, "Thank God" and with one push of maybe 30 seconds Logan popped out. He came out screaming. Andrew again was not allowed to cut the cord because he needed to go straight to the special care people. He scored an 8 and 9 on his 1 and 5 minute APGAR. They weighed him in at 5 lbs 3 oz. Carrie and Andrew then got to hold him and decided it was nice to pee on Mom. Then it was time to take him up to the nursery to do a blood sugar test because he was a small little guy. Andrew got to go up there with him and take a few pictures. We are just now waiting for him to come down and meet us in the post-partum room.
