I know I know every birthday I start that it is amazing how fast time flies. I just can't believe how much they have grown. I think all babies are amazing, kids too. It just seems this one day is extra special.
The scare we had right before Carrie was induced just seems to make everything today even more happy. We know it was a short lived scare because they specialist decided Logan needed to get the heck outta there to have the best chance. All the tests showed him doing as well as possible but was showing decreased blood flow to the placenta and signs of it giving out. He stopped growing too. The tests showed him bigger than he was at birth. Then once he was born we were disclosed that he may not be able to breathe on his own, may not be able to eat on his own, he needed extra tests and extra care.
As it all turns out he was as healthy as a tiny little bitty horse! He passed all his tests with flying colors and was deemed extremely healthy but very little. Our little 5 lb 3 oz baby shrunk to 4lbs 12 oz. Once we got him to where eating was easier for him he gained well. In the beginning it just wore him out too much to nurse effectively.
Now our little tiny weighs in a 18 lbs 7 oz (3%), is 29.25 in tall (50%) and has a nicely large 18.75 in circumference noggin. The Doc says his skinny nature is genetic. Hmm..wonder where he got that from?!
Logan probably eats more than Aidan does now. He never seems to stop only slow down just a tad. He is curious and super active. Logan loves people and interacting with them. He has yet to meet a stranger. (Mom and Dad would prefer at least a little bit of hesitancy) the Doc said he loves that though. It shows a Baby with a lot of self confidence who sees people as just people, nothing scary.
We are so blessed to have our Sweet Logan and are extremely happy to celebrate his First Birthday today!!
