My Family and I are participating as a team in the Race for the Cure on Saturday, June 11, 2011. Our team the Soaring Eagles was created in honor of my Aunt Connie. Connie has been a part of our family since before I was born. Last May she was diagnosed with breast cancer. This past year for Connie, my Uncle Wayne and their two sons Samuel and Aaron has been a tough one. This is not the first time someone in our family was diagnosed with breast cancer and probably not the last. My Mom's Mother was lucky to be diagnosed with a non-invasive breast cancer 1o years ago (January I believe.) at the age of 69. One of our cousins Jenny has had a tremendous battle for many years with breast cancer also. My Grandmother was very lucky and hers did not need chemotherapy and radiation. Connie and Jenny's stories are much different and they have been through things many of us cannot even imagine.
Breast cancer affects so many people in the world. If you have the time to volunteer, participate or would like to make a donation PLEASE do. I have included above a link to our team if you would like to donate and/or join it! Everyone is more than welcome to!
For all the Girlfriends, Wives, Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Grandmothers, Aunts, Nieces, Cousins and their families out there please help in any way if possible. Prayers are always greatly appreciated!
