This is going to be a much quicker update than the previous ones. Today was the day that we got to bring Carrie home. The morning started out well. Carrie slept really well last night. We found a routine with her pain medications to help keep her comfortable for longer periods of time, so this helped with sleeping. Made for a much happier and cooperative Carrie!
Early this morning, Dr. Grossi stopped by. He pretty much ordered her to take a shower and put on regular clothes so she "could feel human again. It really helps the healing process." So, into the shower for a wash and comfy clothes. No more hospital gown! After the shower, we had the phrase "I'm hungry. I want some real damn food" come out. This was one of the best signs we've had for a few days. She wanted a cheeseburger and some potato chips.
We both took a walk down to the cafe and got what she wanted. Here is a picture of a happy momma waiting for our cheeseburgers to be grilled:
It was a long, slow walk, but we finally made it back to the room. Nom Nom Nom!!!
Over our stay at the hospital, I was able to get home and see the boys some. Here is one I was able to take that I could send to Carrie to know that her babies were doing well:
Well, the hospital stay is over. Now we are on to recovery at home, which we hope will go smoothly. It is not going to be an easy road, that is for sure. Carrie is going to have her good days and bad days, but hopefully will be able to do more stuff in the next 4-6 weeks. Only time shall tell. Just to sum it up, here is her bitchin' cool scar. Only problem is that Dr. Grossi did everything as if a plastic surgeon would have done it, so it is going to be hard to see! After a hair wash, you could barely notice it.
More updates will come to keep everyone posted on Carrie's recovery process. Eventually, she will get back on here and update this thing, but for right now, you all are stuck with me.
